Hi Bob, We would be happy to accomodate any referrals that need property management or tenants looking for a place to be rent. We have rental specialists on our team to handle them. We mostly work the Brandon area and New Tampa areas.
I currently own a property management website and allow a local property management company the use of it and in return I get referral fees. I am seriously thinking about starting a property management division at our office since I have such a high ranking website and the rental market is growing.

Hey Tony, I think it is good idea if you have a heavy online presence, it will become another source of income you will also bring more opportunities to gain sellers down the road not to mention turn potential renters into buyers.
The best advice I can give is make sure you have someone you can turn to that has been in property management for years and knows the ropes, One thing about property management is you can get yourself in trouble if you don’t know what you are doing .
Yeah we opened a property management company, We gain about 2 properties a week. We offer lower fees then most but only advertise on the internet. All our homes rent in a few days. It is a win win.

Tony – in regards to starting a property management business my best advice would be “don’t do it” unless you are prepared to invest in hiring an experienced property manager to lead your team. It is a very painful and long learning process, no matter how “simple” it seems to manage properties.
If you have a good website that generates traffic, my advice would be to expand on the model and find a way to earn revenue from that. I have a successful property management company, but my expansion to new locations only includes new websites that earn income, not more properties to manage. You can still add value to the world and to owners and / or tenants without actually managing properties.

Any owners in Portugal, looking to rent their properties commercially now have to apply for a commercial rentals license from the Portugues goverment. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the case stateside? As a property management company in Portugal we have found that many owners are turning to us for advice on this matter, leading to an increase in business opportunity for us and other property management companies in Portugal.
